Empower
One thousand reports of neglect and abuse are reported each year in Blount County. In 2015 New Hope served 327 children who were affected by severe abuse. In honor of those children we asked a local author to write a fictional story depicting what a child goes through when abuse or trauma occurs. Please keep in mind that if you are a survivor or know someone who is this story may be emotionally charging for you. If you choose to read we want to thank you for taking the time to do so. “My Words” is a powerful story about a young girl dealing with trauma and how that has affected her world. After reading we hope that come away empowered to make a a difference in the life of a child!
